The Emerald Odyssey by Jerry O Hunter

The story opens with the main character, Dave Rockwood on a Boeing 707 traveling to Saigon. Dave lands at the Tan Son Nhut Airport and he instantly knows he is in a different land. Its humid and hot, not like the sunny California where he comes from. He also notices that he seems to be the only caucasian in sight. You won't believe who's waiting at the airport to pick him up and what they intend on using him for.

Without any warning he's hanging out with Sneaky Pete and being called a Spook Corporal Wilson. He came with the idea that he would be assisting with translating the Charlie's or the VC's. Sergeant Carter thinks Dave (now known as Wilson) is in Cambodia to interrogate the VC's. Dave believes he is going to Saigon for a translating job.

Wilson is faced with the option on getting on a helicopter and facing unknown adventure that he knows he is not trained for, or turn back around and go back to California where he can continue his divorce with his wife.

This is just the beginning. Find out if he'll chose one path and be Wilson the badass or go back to his usual life as Dave Rockwood. You'll be emerged in action you've never read in any other book. Wilson/Dave's character is so different from others that made him very unpredictable. I didn't know what he was capable of or what kind of tricks he had up his sleeve.

Great book Jerry O Hunter, I give it 5/5.
