The Boxcar Children BeginningPatricia MacLachlan

What is the book about?

The beginning of the classic series "The Boxcar Children." Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny are home with Mama and Papa when they see a broken down vehicle owned by a family and they need help. Of course they welcome them into their home and treat them as if they were part of the family. Their two children, William and Meg join Henry, Jessie and Violet in attending school and helping around the house doing their chores. They quickly become great friends, but soon it's time for the family to move on to their own home.

They continue moving on with their own lives, while keeping in touch with Meg and William but when the inconceivable happens, the four children find they are now on their own. For good. They are sad to leave their past life behind but feel determined to take care of themselves and be their own family.
And so begins the start of The Boxcar Children.

What did I think?

I grew up reading all of the Boxcar Children series and I loved every single one. This was a great book that quickly brought me back to the series I read over and over. The bond the kids have is so special and beautiful. You can't help but fall in love with these little guys. They're strong willed and determined to be a family, regardless of where they live or the obstacles they encounter. They are truly a great set of kids that make a great series for anyone of all ages to read.

I give this book
5 classic awesome hearts for a classic awesome book.
